Welcome to the holiday season — that whirlwind of shopping extravaganzas, gift-giving, marketing blitzes, holiday parties and activities galore that begins right after Halloween, builds to Thanksgiving, and gains momentum through the end of the year. While this season is meant to bring feelings of love, cheer and gratitude, it’s also a source holiday stress for many. Why?
Somewhere along the line, the stress of unrealistic expectations, unreasonable demands, throngs of people crowding into one more Holiday sale and assorted other stress sources can leave you depressed, over-tired, and dreading one more day of the so-called “holiday season.” Ever feel like you need a break, a fresh viewpoint, an Attitude Adjustment?
Holiday Inspiration and Laughter
Keynote Speaker Al Foxx provides a thoughtful message during the holiday season to audiences regarding the positive results of “focusing on what you have” instead of “what you don’t have”. He also speaks to “living until you die… just because you are breathing, doesn’t mean you are living”.
Al’s early life was a life anyone would want. He literally had it all, a true Norman Rockwell kind of existence, a secure, loving and supportive family, a healthy athletic body, a beautiful fiancée, a good job, material possessions. But all of this changed when a motorcycle crash at age 19 nearly killed him. Because of the challenges with head trauma and having a half paralyzed body, there were many times that he wished he had died. He couldn’t walk, couldn’t talk understandably, couldn’t drive and was told he never would. Dying seemed like the easy way out, but then Al relearned his ABCs. Rewriting his life book still required patience and effort like nothing he had experienced, but relearning his ABCs gave him the tools to write a happy ending.
ACCEPT the book you have been given, BELIEVE you can write a happy ending and CARE about others.
