Goethe’s Persistance Attitude

is a powerful Attitude that anyone with a determined will can capitalize on

Make persistence a habit.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

.German writer whose thoughts are the most respected of his time, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said about persistence, “Austere perseverance, harsh and continuous, may be employed by the smallest of us and rarely fails its purpose, for it’s solid power grows irresistibly greater with time.”

Another way to say that is, “Keep on keeping on.”

My favorite way to describe this Attitude was given to me by my first speech therapist after my motorcycle crash: .

WINNERS Don’t Quit! Winners DON’T Quit!! Winners Don’t QUIT!!!

To fully utilize persistence, one has only to get started. You don’t have to be great to start, but to be great you have to start. If you doubt the power of persistence, think of how water, soft though it is, used persistence to carve the grand canyon out of rock, a much harder substance.

All it needed was a goal, to reach the ocean, and persistent effort, time.

Another quote that I love to use is: “The difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is that successful people fail more.” I have no idea who said it first, but I believe it to be true!!

I also agree with this quote. Life, especially in the business world, is a numbers game. The more doors you knock on the more times it will slam in your face, but the more widgets you’ll end up selling.
